What happens when you write
- 1 Tell us what you have A scanned map, a geological sheet, a thin section. A photo is enough to get started.
- 2 We try it on your material We digitize a sample of yours and show you the result before you decide anything.
- 3 We open your account You digitize your own archive and export to Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML or DXF.
It saves us an email if you include
- The file or a sharp photo, with the legend visible
- The scale of the document, if you know it
- What you need back: polygons, faults, columns, mineral counts
Frequently Asked Questions
What image formats does GeoDigitizer accept?
We accept JPG, PNG and TIFF images. We recommend a minimum resolution of 300 DPI for the best results.
How accurate is the automatic vectorization?
Our average accuracy is 98% for detecting geological units. Quality depends on the input map: the sharper the colours and edges, the better the results.
Which coordinate systems can I export to?
We support geographic WGS84 (EPSG:4326), UTM WGS84, PSAD56 UTM and geographic PSAD56 (EPSG:4248).
Is my data safe?
Yes. Files are processed on secure servers and deleted after 24 hours. We do not store or share your maps.
Do I need to install any software?
No. GeoDigitizer is 100% web based. Results download ready to use in QGIS, ArcGIS or any GIS software.
